Class

Silat:

Whether you train to defend yourself from the long range, striking range, or grappling range, successful takedowns and footwork are an important part of your defensive training.

We feel that the takedown methods found in the Malaysian/Indonesian art of Silat are among the most effective methods in the world.

All of the body mechanics and offensive manipulation of bladed weapons found in our knife tactics courses are based primarily on the Silat system.

Our tactical karambit courses are among the most comprehensive blade tactics courses in the world. Michael Peterson is the only instructor to have ever been inducted into the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame as a “Tactical Karambit Master Instructor”, and the only individual to have ever taught karambit tactics at the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame training camp, which he has done on multiple occasions. He is known worldwide as one of the foremost experts in offensive karambit tactics and bladed weapons manipulation. These blade combatives are primarily taught in weekend seminars… but, on occasion, they are taught within our Eskrima classes.

We have weekly classes in the Malaysian Harimau Berantai Silat system of Professor Jak Othman, that focus on in-depth knife tactics… but these classes are by personal invite only, and require that you train with Professor Jak Othman at his seminars when he is here from Malaysia.
