Harimau Berantai Silat:

Our Silat comes directly from Malaysia, and is personally taught to our instructors by it’s founder, Professor Jak Othman. Harimau Berantai is his family’s system, and it literally means “chained tiger”. The story behind the name is quite interesting, but we’ll save that for in-class study! This class is only offered to adults, ages 18 and up. It includes the study of many bladed weapons, including the bilati (straight knife), the karambit (tiger claw knife), the kapak kecil (Small axe), and the keris (wavy-bladed dagger). It also includes the study of empty-hand combatives, and focuses deeply on proper footwork and efficient movement.

Our tactical karambit and straight-blade seminars are among the most comprehensive blade tactics courses in the world. Michael Peterson is the only instructor to have ever been inducted into the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame as a “Tactical Karambit Master Instructor”, and the only individual to have ever taught karambit tactics at the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame training camp, which he has done on multiple occasions. He is known worldwide as one of the foremost experts in offensive karambit tactics and bladed weapons manipulation.
